ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Cesar Contreras-Diaz was sentenced to nine years behind bars Monday for an incident where a woman was shot in the face while driving near Central and Juan Tabo in Albuquerque.

    Story continues below

Contreras-Diaz took a plea deal, pleading guilty to conspiracy and shooting charges in May. According to a criminal complaint, Elora Manuelito, Christopher Rivera, Kylie Crooke and Contreras-Diaz were driving when they got cut off by a van. They became upset and started shooting. The victim, who was hit and lost an eye, was driving a completely different vehicle.

Crooke and Manuelito both took plea deals and have yet to be sentenced. Rivera pleaded not guilty and has a trial scheduled for November.
