    Man accused of Santa Fe murder pleads not guilty to federal charges

    SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man accused of killing another man during a carjacking in a Santa Fe parking lot last month has pled not guilty to his federal charges. Zachary Babitz was arraigned on carjacking and firearm charges in federal court on Tuesday morning.

    He’s accused of stealing 83-year-old Gordon Wilson’s car after shooting and killing him in the Best Buy parking lot in Santa Fe in August. Federal investigators also said he used a gun to rob an Auto Zone, Jersey Mike’s, Arby’s, and a Wells Fargo bank. Babitz was arrested in Las Cruces a few days after Wilson’s murder.
