ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico United has sat at the top of the western conference for a majority of the 2024 season. Sacramento Republic has also been a front runner, sitting in second place. The two clubs are finally set to meet on Wednesday night.

The match will likely have major playoff implications when determining which club earns the top seed and homefield advantage in the playoffs. It is the first of two meetings between the two clubs in 10 days.

“Everything matters,” said United head coach Eric Quill. “Every decision you make matters, every technical flaw is magnified, just as well as every technical success and idea that’s outside the box that hurts the opponent. Those games are fun when everything is on the line.”

New Mexico United and Sacramento Republic kick off from Isotopes Park at UNM.
