East Mountain locals celebrate those who keep them safe

BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) — The East Mountain community gathered for a day of entertainment, family, and a whole lot of thanks to the first responders who make their community safe.

The celebration centered around the themes of fire safety awareness and first responder appreciation, but it also offered attendees the chance to enjoy some music, a car show, and educational demonstrations.

Vendors were available for people to shop and support locally sourced goods, and some residents were even honored with “outstanding citizen awards.”
