SILVER CITY, N.M. (KRQE) – A probationary firefighter in Silver City, Jamal Green, was reported missing after the local firefighters’ union said he failed to show up for a scheduled shift on Sunday. Community members expressed their concerns on Facebook and searched for Green, with many saying the behavior was out of character for him.

Green was reportedly last seen at the Snappy Mart convenience store on Swan Street near Silver Heights Boulevard at 9:39 p.m. on Saturday. He was wearing a white button-up shirt and a maroon beanie, as seen on surveillance footage.

According to the union, at around 5:40 p.m. on Sunday, Green’s truck was captured on a license plate reader heading westbound on I-10 in Benson, Arizona. Just after 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Green’s family and the firefighters’ union confirmed that contact was made and that Green was located safely.
