ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The baby American flamingo at the ABQ BioPark has grown from a palm-sized newborn to over three feet tall according to zoo officials. The flamingo, which hatched in late June , is a boy and has already joined the flock in Flamingo Island.

Zoo officials said he will be easy to pick out of the crowd because flamingos take about three years to fully change color but people will be able to see some pink feathers underneath his wings already. He does not have a name yet as his care team is still voting.
