ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – KRQE News 13 has reported about a home in northwest Albuquerque that’s gotten complaints about the large number of unkept and dangerous dogs that were responsible for seriously injuring a woman. Police are now investigating a suspicious death at that property.

The City of Albuquerque’s Animal Welfare Department removed 19 dogs on Thursday. They said those dogs will be quarantined from other animals and will be under their care through the investigation.

KRQE News 13 reported that those dogs maimed a woman who crossed through that yard in August. She was left fighting for her life in the ICU. The incident terrified neighbors and the victim’s mother. “She has bites everywhere. There’s not a place that she’s not bitten. She’s just bitten up everywhere,” said the mom in September.

Animal Welfare said they received at least five reports about the woman who lived at the home.

They tried to remove the dogs but were unable due to their limited authority. The owner was facing charges for failing to care for her dogs but it was ruled she was not competent to stand trial.

Whose death❓When❓Killed by dogs, or other cause of death❓Why the limited authority of Animal Control❓ Isn't removing the unkempt dogs (they WERE kept) exactly what the public needs A.C. to do ❓Answers, please.
