    New Mexico taxpayers can use ‘Direct File’ starting in 2025

    ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico taxpayers will have another way to file their taxes next year. Starting in 2025, the Direct File tax service will be available for residents who lived in New Mexico in 2024.

    Last year’s trial run was for filers in simplified situations, such as W-2 wages, Social Security retirement funds, limited interest income, and unemployment income. This year’s service will add additional categories like child and elderly credits, student loans, and educator expenses.
