ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Jimmy Martinez took a plea deal Tuesday, pleading guilty to charges stemming from a carjacking and foot chase in March 2024.

    Story continues below

Albuquerque police said an officer was trying to pull over a vehicle near Eubank and Candelaria when it crashed into another car. A criminal complaint says three people ran from the vehicle, including Martinez. According to police, Martinez then held a gun to a victim’s head and carjacked them.

A sentencing date for Martinez has not yet been set.

If you use a gun in any type of violent crime, you are to do the maximum sentence in federal lock down. You do the crime, you do the time.
