    [1] VIDEO: Carlsbad woman leads police to child’s remains – Last month, law enforcement was led to infant remains buried off Queens Highway in Eddy County. In August when family members of a woman reached out to law enforcement with concerns they hadn’t seen her baby in months. The woman told deputies she accidentally fell asleep on her child, smothering her, nearly a year ago and then buried her. The Eddy County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating this case.

    [2] NM Secretary of State’s Office holds campaign to combat A.I. election misinformation – The New Mexico Secretary of State’s Office wants to warn the public about misinformation that might be spread using artificial intelligence. The office said no cases have been reported in New Mexico. New Mexico requires political advertisements to disclose the use of A.I.

    [3] Passing clouds, but mostly dry & warm weather – Mostly clear skies with relatively chilly mornings and seasonably warm afternoons will continue this week as despite a storm system approaching late this week, most will still remain rain-free with mostly light winds up until late this week into early next week where conditions will start to feel more like fall.

    [4] Behind-the-scenes look at the Balloon Fiesta pin archive – The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is a time for people to see balloons and it gives collectors a chance to seek out pins and trade them with others. Ty Young has one of the most extensive collections of pins. Young has been collecting pins since attending the first fiesta in 1972. There is a Collector’s Corner Pin Collection website that features photographs and information about official Balloon Fiesta pins starting with 1972 up to 2024’s pins.

    [5] Santa Fe woman organizes free skateboard giveaways for Navajo kids – Amy Denet Deal is in the process of handing out 5,000 skateboards to Indigenous youth in New Mexico and Arizona through her sustainable upcycled artwear brand, 4KINSHIP. Her first skateboard giveaway was in Window Rock, Arizona, in early September, and last week she held another giveaway in Shiprock, New Mexico.
