Warm temperatures continue across New Mexico. Evaporating showers are expected in the Gila and Sacramento mountains this afternoon.

The high pressure system over the bootheel of New Mexico continues to strengthen and nudge towards south central New Mexico. This high pressure is allowing for temperatures to continue to climb across the state. Parts of New Mexico will be experiencing record and near-record high temperatures tomorrow and on Saturday.

Over the weekend the high pressure will move itself south and east towards Texas. At the same time, a low pressure system will be making its way from the Pacific Northwest to the Great Basin. This low pressure will not be bringing in very much moisture. Though it will help temperatures to trend downwards.

Early Tuesday morning a backdoor cold front will move through New Mexico. The front is no longer forecasted to be as strong as originally anticipated. However, in combination with the lower pressure system over the Great Basin, temperatures across New Mexico will slightly decrease.
