APD says it received several calls around 2 a.m. Wednesday about a man lying in the middle of the road. Police say the man was run over by a while Lincoln Sedan and the driver stayed on scene to speak with officers. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. The driver told police he initially thought there was debris or a box on the road, but felt a thump and realized hit might be something different. The driver pulled over and waited for police to arrive.

APD says alcohol or speed do not appear to be factors in the incident. The investigation is currently active.
