SANDOVAL COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – A new Public Safety and Judicial Services Complex is now open on the Santa Ana Pueblo.

The new 20,000 square foot building will house its police department and courts. The building is located near Highway 550 and 528 next to the fire station.

Tribal leaders said the location will help speed up response times. “It is designed to improve the public safety of the pueblo, provide safe and secure facilities for the police, judges and courtrooms, and offer protected private areas needed by members of our community. We planned the new complex to fulfill the growing needs of our pueblo, while preparing for the future of the Tamayame people,” said Santa Ana Pueblo Governor Myron Armijo in a news release.

    The project cost $15.5 million.
