In a matchup of two top-10 teams that are unbeaten in 6A district 1, Rio Rancho hosted Volcano Vista. The Hawks soared to a 33-0 win.

“The score I’m pleased with,” said Volcano Vista head coach Chad Wallin. The guys up front on the defensive line and backers are really getting after their running backs, our offensive line is creating holes for us to run the ball.”

In the state’s oldest rivalry that dates back to 1909, Roswell and Artesia met up for the 126th time. Entering the night, Roswell led the all-time series 73-51-1, however Artesia has dominated the Coyotes in recent decades. Artesia has not lost to Roswell inside the Bulldog Bowl since 2000.
