Portion of East Wenatchee Apple Capital Loop Trail to temporarily close on Wednesday
EAST WENATCHEE — Portions of the East Wenatchee side of the Apple Capital Loop Trail will temporarily close on Sept. 4. The scheduled closure will affect sections of the trail from Hydro Park to SE 3rd Street and from NE 9th Street to the Odabashian Bridge. Another Cougar Reportedly Spotted in East Wenatchee
A cougar is lurking in East Wenatchee, according to the city's police department. This is not a first-time occurrence. On August 15, an East Wenatchee house cat was reportedly mauled by two roving cougars. The cat almost certainly died, though we never received confirmation of its fate. (As for the cougars, one apparently managed to elude capture; the other, from what we gather, was killed on sight.)

Altercation ends in stabbing at WinCo in Moses Lake
MOSES LAKE - A person was stabbed at the Moses Lake WinCo Foods store early Wednesday, according to police. The call about the incident came in at 1:47 a.m. The victim, a 31-year-old Moses Lake man, was taken to a hospital for treatment, his condition was not known by police. Police say the victim was uncooperative with the investigation. Video surveillance captured a portion of the melee but it does not show the suspect. No arrests have been made.
