Kansas City Police say a vehicle hit the CVS store at 63rd and Brookside about 2:15 a.m.

The front of the store was damaged extensively. A vehicle appeared to have rammed into the front doors, breaking through. Glass, the overhang awning and other debris covered the sidewalks as crews cleaned up.

Police tell KSHB 41 News they believe this was an attempted break-in. They said they don't believe the suspects got away with anything. However, the ATM from inside the store had been dragged out the sidewalk out front, visibly damaged but not open.

    No suspects are in custody.

CVS workers on the scene said the contractor would board up the storefront for now until they could build a temporary frame and determine when they can reopen.

Amy Thibault of CVS says they are cooperating with police as they investigate the incident, and plan to re-open the store as soon as possible. In the meantime, patients with immediate prescription needs can visit any nearby CVS Pharmacy location.
