WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Kansas is ranked 20 out of 50 states in WalletHub’s “Best States to Live In 2024.”

To rank each state, the website looked at 51 pieces of data that are considered indicators of livability, like housing costs, wages, healthcare, safety, and education. Those were then grouped into five categories: Affordability, Economy, Education & Health, Quality of Life, and Safety.

    The top 5 states are:

    1. Massachusetts
    2. Florida
    3. New Jersey
    4. Utah
    5. New Hampshire

However, Kansas beat each of the top five in individual categories. Kansas ranked 27th in affordability, beating Massachusetts, which ranked 44th.
