KDOT hosting job fair for southwest Kansas

DODGE CITY, Kan. (KSNW) — The Kansas Department of Transportation is hiring in southwest Kansas.

KDOT will host a job fair for Equipment Operator and Engineering Technician positions currently open in the region. Staff will be available to assist with filling out paper or online applications, reviewing resumes and offering tips.

The department says interview teams will conduct on-site interviews. Qualified candidates will receive contingent job offers on the spot.

Equipment operators’ starting pay is $18.74 per hour for those without a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and $20.13 per hour after they obtain one. KDOT offers CDL training at no upfront cost to employees.

KDOT offers entry pay of $19.84 for engineering technicians. Benefits for all positions include first-day insurance coverage, immediate enrollment in KPERS retirement, vacation and sick leave, and promotion and advancement opportunities.

The job fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, at the KDOT subarea, located at 11310 E. Wyatt Earp Blvd. in Dodge City .
