Some showers and storms tracked east through parts of south central and southeast Kansas early this morning. The storms have exited to the east and are now weakening over far eastern Kansas. High temperatures will not be too bad thanks to some early cloud cover. We will warm back up to the 80s and low 90s. Winds will be breezy, especially to the north and west.

The next chance for rain will be tonight. Showers and storms in Colorado will attempt a trip into Western Kansas but most of this activity will not make it.

There is a brief window of opportunity early in the overnight for an isolated severe storm to the southwest. Skies will be dry again by early Wednesday.

Overall conditions will be mainly dry over the coming days as temperatures gradually return to normal. At times there will be some moisture that skims the area but do not expect to see much.

Another wave of showers and storms ejects out of Colorado and into Western Kansas late Wednesday evening.

One or two storms could be stronger and capable of damaging wind gusts and large hail. However, an isolated severe storm risk is confined to extreme Northwest Kansas and Southwest Nebraska.

Shortly after storms make their way into the area, they will slowly weaken through the night as rain tracks into Central Kansas.

Some leftover showers will be possible into Thursday but will not stick around much longer after that. We continue the trend of evening and overnight showers and storms to the west Thursday night, but this time they will mainly favor the northwest corner of the area.

Some triple digit high temperatures are expected over the weekend. Anyone heading out to the Air Show Saturday at McConnell Air Force Base will need to plan on taking all measures to stay as cool and hydrated as possible.
