Phillipsburg man hit, killed by semi in Kiowa County

KIOWA COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a semi-truck in Kiowa County on Wednesday.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said Richard Hubbard, 50, of Phillipsburg, was walking north on 10th Avenue, crossing U.S. Highway 54 in Mullinville around 12:16 p.m.

A semi-truck driven by a man from Pleasant Hope was heading west on U.S. 54 when he hit Hubbard.

Hubbard was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi was not injured.
