    Salina man killed in late-night crash

    SALINE COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) — A 37-year-old Salina man died Thursday night after crashing north of the city.

    The Kansas Highway Patrol says Brandon Doherty was driving west on Kansas Highway 143 at a high rate of speed around 10:30 p.m.

    Troopers say he lost control of his GMC Sierra 1550 near U.S. Highway 81. The pickup crashed into a guardrail and overturned into the north ditch.

    Law enforcement raises concerns over I-70 closure

    The KHP says Doherty was not wearing a seat belt. He died at the scene. According to the crash report, Doherty was the only person in the vehicle.
