KECHI, Kan. (KSNW) – The Boil Water Advisory that was issued for the City of Kechi on Friday has been rescinded.

The advisory was issued by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment after a waterline break caused a loss of pressure in the distribution system. Failure to maintain adequate pressure can sometimes lead to a loss of chlorine residuals and bacterial contamination.

17 hospitalized, 115 treated for heat-related illnesses at Frontiers in Flight airshow

The issue has been resolved, and laboratory test samples collected from Kechi indicated no evidence of bacteriological contamination.

Anyone with consumer questions can call the water system at 316-744-9287 , the KDHE at 785-296-5514 , or go online for more information.
