WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Temperatures across Kansas have been toasty the last few days. In Wichita, that led to some classrooms reaching the upper 80-degree range on Monday, according to messages KSN News received.

KSN reached out to the school district for a response. Susan Arensman, the district’s news and media relations manager, says that some systems were knocked offline during the weekend storm. She says crews worked Monday to reset equipment.

Meteorologist Ronelle Williams says temperatures in the area will remain toasty through Thursday. A cooldown to the 80s is expected Friday through the start of next week.

They didn't used to air conditioned at all, and we went early and got out early for heat contingencies.
