BARTON COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) — One person has died, and two others were injured following a UTV crash west of Hoisington Sunday evening.

Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir said a single UTV was driving in a field west of the baseball fields and rolled, causing serious injuries to three people.

On Tuesday, Bellendir said the operator of the UTV, identified as 62-year-old Kevin Seyfert of Hoisington, died from his injuries on Monday at a Wichita hospital. Two male passengers, ages 71 and 37, were also injured, and both were taken to Wichita hospitals.

Bellendir said the investigation revealed the UTV was traveling at a high rate of speed when the operator attempted to make a sharp turn, causing the vehicle to roll. Bellendir said his office has not ruled out the possibility that alcohol was a contributing factor and that the rollover was still under investigation.
