Juvenile injured after being hit by car in west Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A juvenile was hospitalized in serious condition after being hit by a car in west Wichita on Tuesday evening.

According to the Wichita Police Department, around 5 p.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of Jewell and Prescott for an injury accident involving a bicyclist.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the bicyclist was a juvenile who was younger than a teenager.

The juvenile was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Sedgwick County Dispatch initially told KSN the juvenile’s injuries were critical.

The investigation is ongoing.
