WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show one in four adults in the United States live with a disability.

In Kansas, the number is even larger, with one in every three adults living with a disability . While the Americans with Disabilities Act passed in 1990 has helped make lives easier for those with disabilities, Some cities are doing a better job of offering a better quality of life to the disabled than others.

A new report from Forbes Health shows Wichita is ranked toward the bottom for accessibility among America’s largest 93 cities. For the report, they gathered data on ten different metrics, including:

    • The percentage of housing rentals in the city that are considered wheelchair accessible
    • The number of wheelchair-accessible attractions per 100,000 residents
    • The average rating of wheelchair-accessible attractions in the city
    • The number of wheelchair-accessible restaurants per 100,000 residents
    • The average rating of wheelchair-accessible restaurants
    • The number of wheelchair-accessible grocery stores per 100,000 residents
    • The number of wheelchair-accessible nature trails per 100,000 residents
    • The city’s Transit Score
    • The city’s Walk Score
    • The number of new buildings built in the city since 2010
