TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNW) — Governor Laura Kelly’s office has announced the second round of consult meetings on the Kansas Water Plan.

The public is invited to attend the meetings to provide input and hear preliminary ideas on sustaining access to water across the state. Local consult and Regional Advisory Committee meetings were held earlier this summer.

“Preserving the quality and quantity of our water is an existential issue for our state,” says Governor Laura Kelly. “These meetings will help build a program that provides the collective, coordinated action on water conservation and quality that communities across Kansas need, in both the short and long term.”

Those who attend can participate in group discussions about possible investments to address state water issues, learn more about the criteria for choosing investments that will support the plan’s long-term goals around aquifers, reservoirs, and water quality, help decide on objectives and reasonable goals to achieve them, and how best to fund the plan.
