    KCKPD makes arrest in cold case rape where victim was 91 years old

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Investigators in Kansas City, Kansas, say they’ve made an arrest in a cold case rape from 2016 where the accused suspect was 73 years younger than the victim at the time of the crime.

    Kansas City, Kansas, police say a 26-year-old man faces rape/sexual intercourse without consent in an crime alleged to have happened on June 11, 2016. Investigators say the victim was a 91-year-old woman, the man was 18 years old at the time.

    US Marshals and cold case detectives tried to serve his arrest warrant before 6 a.m. on Friday at his house on Custer Avenue at the intersection of Klamm Road, which is just east of S. 55th Street and directly southeast of the Argentine Yard, but he barricaded himself.

    Authorities believed he was armed and called in a special operations unit, and he surrendered at about 9:15 a.m. and was arrested.
