    Man charged with shooting at deputies during standoff in Haysville

    WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A man was charged on Monday with shooting at deputies during a standoff last week.

    It happened last Wednesday in the 8100 block of S. Berniece when deputies attempted to serve an arrest warrant for Cook . During the hours-long standoff, Robert A. Cook Jr. allegedly fired at Sedgwick County Sheriff’s deputies, who returned fire. No one was injured. Cook finally surrendered just before midnight after negotiations.

    A judge charged Cook with three counts of aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, one count of interference with a law enforcement officer, and one count of criminal threat.

    Cook’s bond was set at $250,000. His next court appearance is set for Sept. 26.
