Wichita police investigating woman’s death south of downtown

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita police are investigating a suspicious death. It happened late Wednesday night near Orme and Water, just south of downtown.

Wichita Police Department’s Public Information Officer Kristopher Gupilan said officers were notified of the incident by a person flagging them down.

“The officer located the unresponsive female in a vacant building,” Gupilan said. “The officer began life-saving measures, but unfortunately, the female succumbed to…was pronounced deceased on the scene.”

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the woman’s cause of death. Right now, her identity and age aren’t being released.
