    Fort Riley man charged in death of Clearwater police officer

    WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A Fort Riley man who was arrested last week and accused of causing a crash that killed Clearwater police officer Scott Hollingsworth made his first appearance in a Sedgwick County courtroom on Thursday.

    Gage Kaiser, 19, is charged with involuntary manslaughter; while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and two counts of aggravated battery; DUI.

    On Saturday, March 16, Clearwater police said Hollingsworth died after another driver struck his vehicle while he was driving home from a shift.

    Hollingsworth had just celebrated one year with the Clearwater Police Department. He left behind a wife and a young daughter.

    Kaiser is in the Sedgwick County Jail with a bond set at $200,000.
