    Man dead after central Wichita shooting, police investigating

    WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — One man is dead after a shooting in Wichita on Saturday night.

    According to the Wichita Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of N. Topeka Ave. shortly before 8 p.m. for the report of a shooting.

    When officers arrived on the scene, they located a 50-year-old male lying in a parking lot with a “fatal gunshot wound.” He was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

    The victim’s name has not been released at this time.

    This is an ongoing investigation.
