KINGMAN, Kan. (KSNW) — Three people are in custody after an hours-long standoff in Kingman. It started Monday around 2 p.m. when police received the report of a man who had been stabbed in the 300 block of E. D Ave.

Officers responded to that incident, but the alleged suspect fled and barricaded himself in a house in the 400 block of E. B Ave. The Kansas Highway Patrol was called in around 7 p.m., along with its SWAT team.

“The person that we’re looking for, we have at a residence. We have multiple agencies involved, and we’re hopefully going to bring this to a peaceful conclusion,” Kingman Police Chief Paul Lux said.
