WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force found a missing 6-year-old child in Augusta and arrested one woman in connection to their disappearance.

A news release from the U.S. Marshals Service said on Wednesday, the Kansas Fugitive Apprehension Task Force, along with the Butler County Sheriff’s Office and the Kansas Highway Patrol Air Unit, arrested the woman, 30, on suspicion of parental kidnapping of a minor. The woman had a warrant for her arrest since May 26, 2021.

A collateral lead request was sent to the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Wichita to attempt to locate and arrest the woman and recover the missing child. She was found in the 100 block of E. 7th St. in Augusta.
