WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Kansas Humane Society’s Director of Communications Jordan Bani-Younes brought Amber Rhodes to visit Thursday during the Pet Project segment on KSN News at Noon.

Amber is a survivor of gun violence. When she first arrived at the Wichita Animal Shelter, she had been shot through the leg.

Jordan says attempts were made to send her to a local rescue, but no one was available. So, the Kansas Humane Society took her in.

Because of the extent of the damage to her leg, the decision was made to amputate it so that she could have a better life. She has been at the shelter since July, and the Kansas Humane Society would really like to find her a good home.

Jordan says she does tend to resource guard around other dogs, so she needs to be with a family without other dogs until she has adjusted. For more information about Amber Rhodes and how to adopt her, click here.
