    Supply drive for Hurricane Helene victims being held at Kansas National Guard

    WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW)—Two brothers are collecting supplies to help those in North Carolina affected by Hurricane Helene.

    Staff Sergeant Luis Fernandez and his brother, retired veteran Roberto Fernandez, will take the supplies to North Carolina this month.

    The supply drive runs Oct. 7-11 and 14-15 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

    Kansans send off supplies for Hurricane Helene victims

    The following items will be accepted:

    • Bottled water
    • Non-perishable foods
    • Cleaning supplies
    • Plastic sheeting/tarps
    • Toothbrushes
    • Toothpaste
    • Toiletries/sanitation items
    • Pet food (dog and cat)
    • Hand sanitizer
    • Sanitizer wipes
    • Feminine hygiene products
    • Baby wipes
    • Baby formula
    • Diapers (children and adults)
    • Heavy-duty work gloves
    • Socks (all sizes and unopened)
    • Rubermaids for storage
    • Sports drinks (powdered packets)
    • Hydration packs (powder form)
    • Bug spray
    • Sunscreen
    • Plastic utensils
    • Manual can openers
    • Trash bags (13-gallon or contractor bags)

    Those looking to donate can drop off the supplies at the Kansas Army National Guard (South Armory) at 3627 S. Seneca St.
