WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The strike at Textron Aviation continues. It is now in its third week.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers leadership is in Wichita. The president joined strikers on the picket lines as they fought for what they believe is a fair contract.

The union announced Tuesday evening that Textron Aviation agreed to meet with them on Thursday.

“Textron Aviation and the IAM District 70, Local Lodge 774 have agreed to return to the negotiating table beginning on Thursday, October 10. We value our longstanding relationship with Union leaders and members and remain committed to collaborating and agreeing upon a contract that acknowledges employees’ contributions, setting us all up for long-term success,” said Textron Aviation Tuesday evening .

The union’s negotiating committee gathered on Tuesday to finalize their proposals, focusing on their top three priorities: GWI, health insurance, and paid time off.

The strike will continue during negotiations.

Meanwhile, Textron Aviation says it “remains committed to negotiating in good faith to reach a contract that recognizes our employees’ contributions and is beneficial for all employees, the community and our shared long-term success.”

The company says their contract offer can be found online.
