Woman killed, another person injured in south Wichita crash

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — First responders were on the scene of a crash in south Wichita where a woman died and another person was injured Thursday night.

The call came out shortly after 7:30 p.m. from the intersection of 47th Street South and Meridian Avenue.

Sedgwick County Dispatch told KSN one person died, while one person sustained serious injuries.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office later identified the person who died as 34-year-old Marjorielle Evans.

The driver of the vehicle was heading north on Meridian when they hit Evans. Evans was pronounced dead at the scene.

The SCSO said Evans was crossing the road when they were hit by a vehicle.
