The weekend starts warm and ends cooler

Our next cold front is on the way and it will bring a big change to our temperatures over the weekend. Unfortunately, there will not be much moisture associated with it.

Before it arrives, we have more unseasonable warmth to endure. We continue the trend of early mornings that have not been too chilly and afternoons above the norm.

There is still some wildfire smoke in the upper levels of our atmosphere. However, our air quality has been in decent shape over the last few days.

The front starts to move in today but will stay north of I-70 through much of Saturday.

That means Saturday will be unseasonably warm too, but the front dives farther south by Sunday and will cool high temperatures down to the 70s and 60s by Sunday.

As the front pushes through it will also bring some breezy winds. Since it is going to remain dry we will have to keep an eye on fire concerns, especially to the northwest.

There will not only be an impact to afternoon highs but overnight lows too. We are in store for some chilly mornings next week.

Some areas farther north and west could see their first freezing temperatures Sunday night and Monday night.
