Our next wave of energy arrives in western Kansas tonight. Showers and storms will cross the Colorado state line after 10 PM. Moisture will start isolated but become more widespread through the early morning.

Temperatures will fall into the 50s and 40s by daybreak on Monday. Strong winds out of the south will help keep us on the warmer side tonight.

Showers and storms will continue to track east on Monday morning. Western Kansas will see widespread moisture that could impact the morning commute tomorrow.

Isolated strong to severe storms will be possible throughout the region tomorrow afternoon. A Marginal Risk for severe weather is in place with the main impacts being strong winds and hail. The tornado threat is low but cannot be ruled out.

Despite the rain, temperatures will be above average tomorrow. Highs reach into the 70s with strong winds out of the south. This warmth will be the fuel behind our severe weather potential.

By the afternoon, western Kansas will be dry while central Kansas gets the opportunity for moisture. Showers and storms track east and bring much-needed rainfall to portions of the state that have been starved for it.

Clusters of showers and storms hang around for central and eastern Kansas through the evening. Rainy rumbles will eventually clear out of the state by midnight on Monday.

And while we desperately could use the moisture, most of the region will pick up less than half an inch over the next few days. But we will take anything we can get as this will be the first measurable rainfall for most since September 22nd.

Temperatures stay warm through the rest of the week as we dry out and see plenty of sunshine. A weak cold front arrives on Wednesday which will knock us down a few degrees but temperatures stay toasty through the end of the month.
