New child care option for Caldwell families

CALDWELL, Kan. (KSNW) — The town of Caldwell in Sumner County now has more child care options. On Friday, the Caldwell School District cut the ribbon on a joint preschool and day care.

Caldwell Early Childhood Center is at 102 N. Osage.

A survey of district parents found child care is a major need for the community. However, both adults and children are excited about the new facility.

“We’re very excited,” Jessica Ricke, a parent, said. “We’ve been counting down the days. We have driven by just about every day to check out the progress and the playground out back, watch them build that, and we are just ready to get in a routine.”

The project was paid for by a bond issue that voters approved in 2023.
