    KS school board hold first-ever meeting at historic Brown v. Board site

    TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – The Kansas Board of Education (KBOE) met at the Brown v. Board of Education historic site on Wednesday.

    The meeting was followed by a ceremony, honoring the 70th anniversary of the case. State and local school leaders say it was a great opportunity to connect with this long history.

    Local library creates new space for Topeka teens

    “This is how we pay homage to that original event 70 years ago,” TPS Board President Keith Tatum said. “Education is also a way that we show love in public, and being able to take our children’s side and give them the resources and the support that they need.”

    There are several events surrounding the anniversary , which is Friday, May 17.
