TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – The City of Topeka has appointed a new assistant city manager Wednesday.

Braxton Copley will now serve as assistant city manager for the City of Topeka alongside the recently appointed City Manager Dr. Robert Perez . Copley previously served as director of Public Works for the city and has nearly 20 years of experience in working for Topeka.

“Braxton has done an incredible job as the director of public works, and we are confident he will
excel in his new role as assistant city manager,” Perez said.

Braxton holds a bachelor’s degree from Colorado College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas, according to the City of Topeka. He also has several nationally recognized technical certifications.

The new assistant city manager will oversee infrastructure and development departments. He will also serve as interim public works director until a replacement is found. The City of Topeka also plans to hire a deputy city manager.
