TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – People were invited to celebrate the annual “Holy Smokin’ Jamboree” this weekend at Mother Teresa Church in North Topeka.

While the event was all weekend, Sunday, September 8, kicked off with mass on the plaza at 9 a.m. The event also included bounce houses, bingo, cake walks, and more.

While the jamboree serves as a fundraiser for the church every year, it’s actually much more than that.

“We’re gonna have fun, come together as family, raise money and it then it brings together the community, North Topeka community and Topeka community together,” Father Thomas Aduri said.

The jamboree is held every year the weekend following Labor Day.
