TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – Federal health officials say milk shipped to stores in multiple states is being recalled Friday due to allergy worries.

The Food and Drug Administration ( FDA ) issued a statement online that HP Hood LLC is recalling some of its 96 oz containers of Lactaid Milk shipped out to retailers and wholesalers from Sept. 5, 2024 to Sept. 18, 2024. The recall was started as the milk may contain traces of almond which is not listed on the label, posing an allergy hazard for some consumers.

The milk was shipped to states including Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming. No illnesses in connection to this recalled milk have been reported yet.

Waffles recalled in multiple states due to plastic contamination

The company first noticed the issue with the Lactaid Milk following a routine maintenance program which found trace amounts of almond in the recalled products. People who purchased the milk can return it to the place of purchase for an exchange or refund. You can contact Hood Consumer Affairs at 800-242-2423 from Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST.
