    Kansas crews to close highway ramps overnight in Topeka

    TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) is announcing several ramp closures in Topeka on Wednesday.

    KDOT announced multiple temporary ramp closures to take place starting Wednesday night and running into Thursday morning on I-70 and U.S. 75. Drivers traveling through the area should plan for the following ramp closures:

    6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25 to 6 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26:

    • The Fairlawn Road entrance ramp onto westbound I-70. A detour will direct motorists to eastbound I-70, to Gage Boulevard and on to westbound I-70.
    • The westbound I-70 exit ramp to Wanamaker Road. A detour will direct motorists to Auburn Road, to eastbound I-70, to Wanamaker Road.
    • The westbound I-70 exit ramp to I-470. A detour will direct motorists to Auburn Road, to eastbound I-70, to I-470.
    • The Wanamaker Road entrance ramp onto westbound I-70 will close upon completion of the Fairlawn Road entrance ramp. A detour will direct motorists to eastbound I-70, to Fairlawn Road, to westbound I-70.

    6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26 until 6 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 27:

    • The westbound I-70 exit ramp to Wanamaker Road. (Detour listed above.)
    • The Wanamaker Road entrance ramp onto westbound I-70. (Detour listed above.)
    • The westbound I-70 exit ramp to I-470. (Detour listed above.)

    11 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26 to 5 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 27:

    • The southbound U.S. 75 flyover bridge to eastbound I-70/Gage Boulevard. A detour will direct motorists to westbound I-70, to Fairlawn Road, to eastbound I-70/Gage Boulevard.

    Signs and message boards will be up to alert and direct drivers. These closures are part of the continued road work KDOT is executing in and around Topeka.
