TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – A 30-year-old man from Plattsburg, MO, was seriously injured after crashing on I-470 while the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) was in pursuit.

Just before 6 p.m. on Sept. 25, a KHP vehicle was chasing the 30-year-old westbound on I-470 near mile-marker 178. The 30-year-old lost control of the Ford Fusion he was driving and hit a guardrail on the left shoulder, according to a KHP crash log.

The 30-year-old crossed both highway lanes, struck a median barrier wall and came to rest in the right lane, according to the KHP.
