How to get a Kansas wildlife license plate

TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – New Kansas wildlife-themed license plates are up for grabs that come with a sweet deal for outdoor enthusiasts looking to explore the Sunflower State.

The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks ( KDWP ) is now offering residents four different license plate options to put on their vehicles that showcase the beauty of the state’s outdoor areas and wildlife. The new designs were first revealed in August 2023 by the KDWP when it asked the public to vote on their favorite.

All four license plates received approval and can now be obtained by the state’s residents. These include the following:

Drivers who purchase one of the above plates will be putting money toward wildlife causes in Kansas. Buying the deer design will send money to fund wildlife conservation while buying the fish design will help contribute to fisheries efforts and so on.

The KDWP is offering the plates with a renewal cost of $50 per year which is tax-deductible. Total costs involved include the price of your normal vehicle registration fee, a $40 production fee and the $50 donation to the KDWP. They also come with a state parks pass, giving people the option to enjoy any of Kansas’ state parks without having to buy daily vehicle permits.
