    KDWP commissioners to discuss elk, deer regulation changes in Bonner Springs

    TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – Kansas wildlife officials will be meeting early next month for discussions of hunting regulations impacting antelope, elk, deer and more.

    The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks ( KDWP ) announced in a press release on Friday, Sept. 27 that it will be holding a commission meeting at noon on Thursday, Oct. 3 at the Wyandotte County Historical Museum in Bonner Springs. People can attend the meeting in person or online.

    Commissioners will discuss and vote on multiple items during the meeting related to hunting regulations and seasons along with other items. These include the following:

    • Vote on temporary regulations.
      • K.A.R. 115-25-8 elk 25-series regulations.
      • K.A.R. 115-25-9a military deer seasons
    • Review session.
      • Coyote night vision and predator control.
    • General discussions.
      • Election of the commission chair.
      • K.A.R. 115-25-7 antelope regulations.
      • K.A.R. 115-25-8 elk regulations.
    • Workshop item discussions.
      • Big game 4-series and 25-series regulations.
      • Carcass movement regulation.
      • K.A.R. 115-25-5 Fall Turkey Regulations and K.A.R. 115-25-6 spring turkey regulations.
      • Five-year review of the threatened, endangered, and species in need of conservation lists.
      • Kansas River invasive carp summary and proposed snagging opportunity.
      • Invasive species regulations.
      • Sportfish vs. non-sportfish regulations.
    Hunting changes impact multiple lakes in Kansas
