    Westbound I-470 shut down for crash in Topeka

    TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – First responders are heading to a crash on I-470 Friday afternoon in Topeka.

    Shawnee County Emergency Dispatch told 27 News that crews are working the scene of a crash in southwest Topeka. According to county officials, crews were called just before 1:30 p.m. to Southeast Gage Boulevard and I-470 for reports of a crash.

    Kandrive.gov is showing that the westbound lane of I-470 is experiencing significantly reduced traffic speeds in the area of the crash. Traffic cameras in the area show vehicles backed up, a firetruck on scene, multiple Topeka Police Department vehicles and at least one ambulance.
